Remember Atom Ant? "He may be small, but he's mighty!" the cartoon said. Atom Ant shifted houses and trees, fought bad guys and chased ruffians.
So what's he got to do with a beauty product? Well, I reckon Scarlett & Greene's new Zit Zapper has similar characteristics - small and mighty, and manages to shift monstrous hunks of pus and grime and clear out pores in no time. It's the epidermis' version of a superhero.
Scarlett & Greene's range is aimed at teen skin, but suitable for all ages.
Their products are free from paraben preservatives, mineral oils, silicones, sulphates and all that jazz.
The Zit Zapper's active ingredients include sulphur to absorb oil, zinc oxide to reduce inflammation, salicylic acid to unclog pores and tea tree oil, with natural antibacterial properties.
It's not often you actually want a pimple to appear, but I've had a run of good skin of late, and this product has been sitting hopefully on my desk for a while now.
So I thanked the cosmetic heavens when a small red lump began to appear and grow rapidly on my chin.
I popped the manuka-scented paste with toothpaste-consistency directly onto my pimple at bedtime, and it dried out all that oozy goo overnight.
It's rather pricey at $30.99 for a teeny 10ml, but just think of it as liquid gold. Or Atom Ant.
Available at department stores and leading pharmacies nationwide.
